I never took mascot branding seriously until I read this piece. It used to feel gimmicky to me, but Clay’s blog brand mascot design showed how mascots can build lasting emotional connections when they’re well thought-out. I especially liked the part about how they evolve with the brand. Made me think of brands like Duolingo, where the mascot has become part of the user experience. I’m now considering a character for a kids’ health app I’m working on. Unexpectedly insightful.
